Biography

I graduated with a BA Hons in Ceramics with Glass Design from University of Central England in 1998, following this I worked as a Shape Designer for the ceramics industry before returning to study in the world renowned 'Potteries' in Stoke on Trent.

I undertook a Masters at Staffordshire University in Ceramic Design for Production which was completed in 2003 and won many awards for my work including Jaguar Product Design Award and Johnson Matthey Shape Design Award.

My studies continued gaining a PGCE from University of Central England in 2005. I have since taught Art & Design, Product Design and Ceramics in Schools, University and MAC Birmingham.

Alongside teaching I run my contemporary ceramics practice from my home studio in Birmingham, England. I design, model and make by hand contemporary minimalist ceramic giftware and interior products that add beauty to the home.

Combining ceramic production processes of plaster modelling, mould making & slip-casting and using the finest English Bone China my ceramics are elegant, pure white and functional. I design products that challenge technical limitations whilst staying honest to their inherant material qualities.

I welcome commissions and have worked with a range of independant businesses producing table accent pieces for Edgbaston Michelin star restaurant; Simpsons, jewellery display stands for Harborne jewellers; Silver & Love and Artists' Ceramics for pen maker; Tom's Studio.
